About Improv For Actors
Are you an actor who is afraid to improvise? Have you shied away from improv because you don’t feel funny?
Now more than ever, it is important for actors across all genres to be comfortable with improvisation. Improv gives you confidence, teaching you how to take risks and trust yourself! Casting directors often cite improv as the most important skill they look for these days. For an actor, improv it’s not always about being funny...it is about the ability to be spontaneous, to make quick choices, to take direction, to listen, and to be a supportive partner in a scene. An added bonus, improv also helps with the non-acting part of an audition - helping you feel comfortable being your authentic self!
Improv for Actors is a safe space to try out your improv muscles. Jump in and improvise in a fun and non-judgmental environment!
Improv For Actors Testimonials
“I have always been intimidated by Improv until taking Improv For Actors with Stacia Teele. Stacia provided a safe and fun atmosphere to work in. Since taking her class I have realized that everyone thinks differently and each scene can go anywhere. In the past anytime I have read a casting and it says that I may have to Improv I wouldn’t submit. Well no longer. Because of Improv For Actors with Stacia Teele I am up for the challenge.”
-Kris Kozlowski (Atlanta, GA)
“I just want to say thank you so much for creating such a fun and safe space to work in. I took Improv 1 at a New York Theater years ago and it was terrifying and awful - I felt humiliated and embarrassed every single class. And to be honest, I didn't learn much. But in taking your class I feel completely different. You really help everyone to shine and I feel like I've learned so much. And I actually want to do more! I've been running from improv for years, so thank you for helping me see how much fun it can be.”
-Kelly Pruner (Los Angeles, CA)
“As a narrative improvisational actor with 5 years of training and several performances of improvised full-length plays under my belt,I took Stacia Teele's Improv for Actors as a way to have some fun and brush-up on some core skills. I got so much more. Stacia’s positive but always focused teaching made each class a powerful experience in further freeing my own self-expression while strengthening my ability to be more fully present with scene partners. I highly recommend any actor to develop their improv skills -- no matter their experience -- and I highly recommend Stacia Teele's Improv for Actors as a rock-solid and fun way to do it.”
-Craig Lincoln (Los Angeles, CA)
“I love this class!! It's the highlight of my week. I've taken a wide variety of acting classes in recent years, but have never ventured to the improv world until now. Stacia's class is a safe learning space, fun, and informative.”
-Johnna (Atlanta, GA)
Improv for Business:
Corporate Workshops
& Events
Yes, And...Improvisation’s Corporate Workshops/Events are a joyful way for your group to engage socially through fun improv games that foster team chemistry, confidence, and creativity!
Improv events build camaraderie between colleagues, and also alleviate stress and promote a heightened sense of well being. Online Improv is particularly beneficial now as we are required to conduct business at a distance—isolated from our co-workers.
Through a unique combination of improvisation, physical exercises and games, I will guide your team to become better communicators, public speakers and collaborators - all done in a fun and nurturing environment!
Improv is an incredible tool to enhance soft skills such as listening, verbal and visual communication, problem solving, thinking on your feet, and spontaneity. The core improv principle of “Yes, And” lends itself perfectly to the business world, promoting strength in supporting and encouraging your partner/team while adding your own contributions. The focus on saying “yes” keeps the conversation moving forward, enhances listening skills, and encourages freedom of expression.
Improv gives you confidence! In Yes, And…Improv sessions, you’ll learn how to take risks. In our classes/events participants will enhance their ability to think on their feet. Since there is no way to prepare ahead of time for improv, you’ll grow to trust yourself and be “in the moment.”
Your team will gain all of the benefits mentioned above - while having a blast! Everyone will leave the session with a boost of confidence and a huge dose of FUN!
Your group is unique and I am able to adapt my program to suit your needs. We’ll have a conversation before your event where you can let me know your team dynamic and goals—I will tailor the lesson plan accordingly. Yes, And…Improvisation is great for all purposes: Team Building/Training Seminars, Happy Hour Events, or Holiday Party Celebrations!
